Alison Dickon’s still life works are inspired by everyday objects and themes of belonging, identity and memory, and reflect her enduring fascination with flowers and patterns. Using printmaking techniques and collage to create shifting dynamics within each piece, she simplifies shapes and perspective in order to achieve a subtlety of line and colour, creating narratives that hint at stories behind the presence of objects arranged on a table.
Alison’s work has been selected for the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and Royal Scottish Academy annual exhibitions. She was awarded the Higher Bridges Prize as part of her residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, and in 2024 she was awarded the Debra Manifold Prize at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours exhibition in London.
