Featured Artist Elaine Turnbull works in the highly collected Naive style of historic Cornish art. Putting a modern twist on an important genre of work, Elaine paints colourful scenes from the West Country, from coastal cottages and fields of grazing cows, to winter waves crashing against cliffs, windblown dog walkers, and swimmers and sunbathers on sunny summer beaches.
Elaine studied Art and Textile design at Newcastle and Edinburgh College of Art. She is a member of the St Ives Society of Artists and is an Associate member of the Penwith Society. Her work has been selected for the Open Exhibition at the Royal West of England Academy, and in 2017 she was a prize winner in the National Open Art Competition.
