We are pleased to present a new collection by Devon based painter Heidi Archer, now available at the gallery. In her highly illustrative style, Heidi makes work inspired by the Southwest coastline, and the bleakly beautiful landscape of Dartmoor.
She works in oil, acrylic, carborundum and charcoal on canvas board and wood panel, creating artworks by layering and reworking colour using cut cloth and handmade paper stencils, and then repeatedly repainting, scoring and sanding the surface. Her paintings draw inspiration from the everyday forms of fishing boats and their catch, working harbours, ploughed fields, flower meadows, the setting sun, the full moon, and quiet nights on the wild moors.
Heidi's work has been selected for the Society of Women Artists Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries, London.
