Phil Ward

Philip was born in Putney, South West London, in 1962. He sketched and painted from an early

age and went on to study at St Martins School of Art. For almost 20 years, Philip has lived and painted in West Cornwall, and has an insatiable curiosity for the people, animals and landscape that surround him. Philip works with both a brush and palette knife, with a focus on capturing movement in order to create dynamic paintings of people and places. He works by building up layers of paint, making energetic marks and creating depth to capture the moment and give each finished piece a life of its own. 

Philip Ward exhibits regularly in both London and Cornwall. His paintings are held in private collections in Cornwall, London, Ireland, Germany and the USA.
